Practice Partners

Mast of Social Work students are provided with two practice learning opportunities in contrasting settings, with different service user groups. The North East Social Work Alliance (NESWA) coordinates the provision of placements across statutory services for children, disabled and older adults, and people with mental health problems. We also benefit from partnerships with a wide range of voluntary and independent agencies working to support disabled adults, isolated older people, parents affected by child protection proceedings, refugees, people experiencing domestic violence, homelessness and substance mis/use.

Depaul

Depaul helps people who are homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Families in Care

Supporting birth families during child protection and child care proceedings.

Recovery College Collective

The Recovery College Collective is a peer led mental health charity, supported by Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust and Mental Health Concern.

Strengthening good practice by building strong partnerships. The North East Social Work Alliance is made up of 12 local authorities and 6 universities.

Impact Family Services

The organisation is the only one of its type in the North and potentially the UK catering to every member of the family in times of separation and divorce; domestic violence and abuse; and for young people affected by relationship breakdown.
