A team of enterprising students have placed second in the prestigious Enactus UK & Ireland World Cup Qualifier, marking the third consecutive year they’ve reached the final.
Over the course of the two-day competition, the team impressed a panel of 100 judges and hundreds of peers with two student-led social enterprise projects: Taka Taka Zero, a Nairobi-based zero-waste initiative that empowers youth and promotes food security, and The Durham Wardrobe Collective, a new venture aimed at making professional workwear more accessible, affordable, and sustainable.
The Durham team’s presentation earned them a well-deserved Runner-Up trophy, adding to their growing collection of national accolades. They competed against inspiring teams from Enactus Southampton, Enactus Cardiff and Enactus University College Dublin in the final.
Enactus UK & Ireland supports students and young people across the country to engage in social action and social enterprise. Its mission is to develop a national network of socially-minded young leaders who transform communities and society through real-life social action and environmentally responsible enterprise.
