We welcomed delegates from across the world to the fifth Collegiate Way International conference (CWI 2025) from Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 December.
The fifth CWI conference, ‘The Collegiate Way – Living and Learning for the Future’ provided a forum to exchange ideas, thinking and best practice, and to celebrate our common purpose.
We hosted representatives from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, China, Singapore, South Africa, and Italy, all involved in, or curious about, residential collegiate universities.
We explored many themes across the week, including Colleges as Gateways to Global or Local Citizenship; Student Support and Wellbeing; Sense of Belonging; and Wider Community Engagement.
Whilst in Durham, delegates experienced showcases from our Sport, Volunteering and Performing Arts students, contributing to the lively atmosphere of learning and shared experience.
The Collegiate Way is a global network of like-minded higher education professionals, which was founded at Durham in 2014.
The CWI provides a network of support for university colleges, together promoting the collegiate way of supportive community-based living, learning and developing.
At Durham, every student is a member of a College and every College has its own character and traditions. The Colleges are the cornerstone of our extraordinary wider student experience, and each one provides an inspiring and supportive community.
