Workshop with IAS Fellow, Dr Claire Craig and Professor Sarah Dillon (Cambridge). What resources might societies have for making decisions about the future? Storylistening is a new framework for the theory and practice of creating and using narrative evidence in public reasoning. This workshop will introduce the framework, and provide an opportunity to use it in practice as part of a project exploring long term governance and Intergenerational Fairness through the lens of climate change.

Circularity – re-using end-of-life materials or rekindling utility and value from wastes - is sustainability’s holy grail. Yet materials seldom move in ways imagined by circularity models. The ambition of the Circulatory Materials project is to mine this gap - between what circularity is imagined to be and trajectories of materials in practice - for an extended interdisciplinary conversation about the potential and limits of circularity as an aspirational, ethical and practical framework.
