Teasing Out Evidence of Science Advancement at Conferences and Workshops

Abstract

As a team member of the project designed by Durham University Professors David Alexander (astrophysics) and Sara Uckelman (philosophy) focused on the community, physical location and curated experiences that lead to scientific advancements, Dr Holbrook is interested in the role of astrophysics conferences and workshops in advancing science. The project utilises both her  background in astrophysics and her nearly three decades of experience as a social scientist studying living people. This presentation will be an overview of the project and will include preliminary results.
