Pledge tree

The Sumaúma Pledging Tree for Human Rights-Based Climate Action is a new initiative that encourages governments, organisations and other stakeholders to make meaningful commitments that place human rights at the centre of climate action.

Prof Elisa Morgera has launched, in her capacity as UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and climate change, together with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Ministry of Human Rights of Brazil, the Sumaúma Pledging Tree for Human Rights-Based Climate Action, as an innovative platform to share and scale up and wide learning from transformative human rights-based climate initiatives by States, sub-national and non-State actors.
