Arif Hyder Ali is a globally ranked and recognized lawyer with over 30 years of experience in international dispute settlement, including investor-State and international commercial arbitration, state-to-state disputes, and cross-border litigation. He is currently the Co-Chair of Dechert LLP’s International Arbitration and Public International Law Group. He is an adjucnt Professor at Georgetown University Law Center.

 

George A. Bermann is professor of law, at Columbia Law School and director of the Center for International Commercial and Investment Arbitration. He is also a member of the faculty of the Ecole de droit, Sciences Po (Paris) and the Geneva LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS). Professor Bermann is an experienced international commercial and investment arbitrator, serving in that capacity for 40 years; founding member of the Governing Board of the ICC International Court of Arbitration; head of the global advisory board of the New York International Arbitration Center; fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; Chief Reporter of the ALI Restatement of the US Law of International Commercial Arbitration; co-editor-in-chief American Review of International Arbitration; and author of very numerous books and articles.

 

Sir William Blair KC served as a High Court Judge in England and Wales for nearly ten years and was Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court from 2016. He helped establish the specialist Financial List and the Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts. He was the first President of the Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Authorities until 2019.

 

Leng Sun Chan SC is a Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore and a Chartered Arbitrator practicing with Duxton Hill Chambers. He is a member of the SIAC Court and the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. He is formerly the Global Head of Arbitration of an international law firm and President of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb). Leng Sun is qualified in Malaysia, Singapore and England. He has acted as counsel or sat as arbitrator in arbitrations seated in Asia, Europe and USA. Leng Sun is the author of the book, Singapore Law on Arbitral Awards and Co-Editor of Conflict of Laws in Arbitration. He is described by WWL as being “among the very best disputes lawyers in the world” and in ALB Asia’s Super 50 Dispute Lawyers as “spectacular, with exceptional knowledge and depth of insight”.

 

Fuyong Chen is the deputy secretary-General of Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center (BAC/BIAC) and the Vice-President of Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG). 

 

John Fellas was a partner and co-chair of the International Arbitration Group at Hughes Hubbard & Reed L.L.P. in New York, where he practised for over 30 years. In 2019, he was recognized as the Best Lawyer in New York for International Arbitration – Commercial by Best Lawyers. John is an adjunct professor at New York University School of Law, teaching international arbitration.

 

Jamie Harrison is Deputy Director General of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). Jamie joined the LCIA after nearly 8 years in Singapore, where he set up and managed the Singapore office of Addleshaw Goddard LLP, and travelled between there and Hong Kong, leading the firm’s Asian arbitration practice. Jamie is qualified to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales and Hong Kong, and has been a registered foreign lawyer with full registration before the International Commercial Court, in Singapore.

 

Arthur Hartkamp,  former Advocate General at the Supreme Court of The Netherlands and Procureur General at the Supreme Court of The Netherlands; First Vice President, UNIDROIT; Foreign Member, The American Law Institute (since 1995); Member, Senate of the European Law Institute (since 2011); Member, Academia Europaea (since 2012); Band 1 arbitrator in the Netherlands.

 

David Kavanagh KC is recognized in Chambers Global, Chambers Europe and Chambers UK, and also has been named to Best Lawyers in the UK. He is head of Skadden’s Europe International Litigation and Arbitration Group. 

 

Charles Kotuby is Professor of Practice and the Executive Director of the Center for International Legal Education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  Previously a Partner in the Global Disputes practice of Jones Day in Washington DC. 

 

Stefan Kröll is Professor for International Dispute Resolution and Director of the Center for International Business Resolution, Bucerius Law School, Germany. He is co-director of the Willem C. Vis Arbitration Moot Court. He is regularly listed as one of the leading arbitrators in Germany (Band 1: Most in Demand Arbitrators; Arbitration Practitioner des Jahres 2017). He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German Arbitration Institute.

 

Christian Leathley is the US Head of International Arbitration of Herbert Smith Freehills. He is based in New York and works closely with our London, Madrid and Paris offices. He is the author of International Dispute Resolution in Latin America: An Institutional Overview (Kluwer Law International). He is also an Adjunct Professor at NYU School of Law, where he lectures on international arbitration.

 

Loretta Malintoppi,  Essex 30 Chamber member and a leading arbitrator based in Rome and Singapore. She co-authored the second edition of Professor Schreuer's The ICSID Convention – A Commentary and is one of the editors of the upcoming third edition of the same Commentary. In 2021, Loretta won the prestigious Global Arbitration Review (G.A.R.) Award for "Best prepared & most responsive arbitrator".

 

Wendy Miles KC, a specialist in international arbitration and dispute resolution with a focus on private and public international law. With over 25 years of experience, Wendy has advised on international law matters and conducted arbitrations under all the major institutions and ad hoc. She has been appointed by the United Kingdom to the ICSID Panel of arbitrators and ICSID Panel of conciliators effective from 10 November 2020.

 

Jern-Fei Ng KC, an experienced counsel specialising in commercial litigation and arbitration, with extensive experience appearing before courts and tribunals and sitting as arbitrator in different jurisdictions, including England, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Luxembourg. He has been recommended by Chambers Asia as a leading practitioner in International Arbitration: The English Bar in the Asia-Pacific Region.

 

Anselmo Reyes, An international judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court, former judge of the High Court of Hong Kong, and Professor of Practice at the University of Hong Kong and Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan. 

 

Helen Hong Shi, a senior partner of Fangda, is recognized by Chambers & Partners as "an icon of arbitration" Ms Shi represents clients in litigation before the I.C.C., the A.A.A., SIAC, HKIAC, CIETAC and ad hoc arbitrations under UNCITRAL rules. She is vice-president of I.C.C. International Court of Arbitration.
