Fellowships

The Zurbarán Centre offers a residential fellowship programme to junior and senior scholars as well as artists, photographers and filmmakers wishing to conduct research on Spanish and/or Latin American Art in collaboration with members of the Centre.
Zurbaran Fellows

The Zurbarán Fellowship covers lodging and full board at St Mary's College for up to two months during term times and includes an honorarium to cover travel and other expenses during the tenure of the fellowship. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our residential fellowship programme is currently suspended.

The 2-year Pemberton Postdoctoral Fellowship is awarded in collaboration with University College, Durham Castle.

    Edward Payne (Pemberton Fellow in Spanish Art) is an Assistant Professor (Research) at Durham University. He joined the Zurbarán Centre for Spanish and Latin American Art in 2018.

  • The Spanish Gallery Collection Research Fellowships

    The Zurbarán Centre for Spanish and Latin American Art at Durham University is seeking to recruit two research fellows to undertake research into the collection of the Spanish Gallery in Bishop Auckland, starting in early January and ending on 30th June 2022.

Pemberton Fellow in Spanish Art
