Biography
Jingyun Wang joined the CS department of Durham University in September 2020.
Her research work focuses on harnessing the power of AI and HCI to drive innovation in the fields of education and digital health. With over 80 peer-reviewed publications, her research is regularly featured in the highest-impact venues of the field, from top-tier journals (Computer & Education, International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction (IJHCI), Interactive Learning Environment, Computer & Education: AI, etc.) to leading global conferences (WWW, AIED, and LAK, etc.).
She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Mentor and Assessor for the Professional Recognition Pathway. She is a core academic member of the Centre for Neurodiversity & Development. She is a member of the Turing Interest Group on Knowledge Graphs. Before joining Durham University, she was an Assistant Professor (2014-2020) at the Research Institute for Information Technology and an associate faculty of the Learning Analytics Center, Kyushu University, Japan.

Research Projects:
Jingyun Wang has been the Principle Investigator or Co-Investigator on several projects, with funding successes from the Japan Society for Promotion of Science(JSPS), Japan Science and Technology (JST), National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT, Japan), Innovate UK, and industry, etc.
She led an international research team to develop an innovative multimedia Python library Medialib with motivating visual exercises that aid comprehension and application of programming basics. The Medialib’s official website(https://medialib.club/), has attracted users from over 100 countries, showcasing its broad international appeal.
