Under 18s Policy

Most students at Durham are over the age of 18, and the University and its colleges are adult environments.  You will usually live in college in your first year and must abide by the rules and regulations of the University and the college of which you are a member.

If you're 17 on 1st September in the year your studies are due to commence, we're able to consider your application. If we make you an offer, you'll be required to provide an "Under 18" consent form, signed by your parent(s) or guardian(s). This form outlines the terms and conditions you and your parent(s)/guardian(s) are asked to commit to should you become a student with us.

If you're successful in gaining a place with us, you'll need to return this form prior to the start of the academic year you're joining us.

If you're 16 or under on 1st September in the year your studies are due to commence, we're unfortunately unable to consider your application. We would however be pleased to receive an application from you once you become 17 or older.
