The exterior of the Palatine Centre, bustling with students between lessons

As well as featuring regularly in our university museums programmes and our festival programme, the art collection is on display in buildings around the University campus.

Outdoor Art Gallery

The Outdoor Art Gallery presents a changing programme of exhibitions featuring our collections, contemporary artists and research. This is located outside the Bill Bryson Library on the Lower Mountjoy Campus, DH1 3LY and is open to everyone free of charge. Find out What's On at our Events Page.

Palatine Centre

The displays in the Palatine Centre include artworks that investigate differing notions of printmaking by artists. The Palatine Centre is also the location of our annual Durham University Student Art Prize exhibition. Entrance is free of charge, and you do not need to book in advance. The Palatine Centre is located on Stockton Road, DH1 3LE and has a café and toilet facilities, but no dedicated public car park.

We run a seasonal programme of visual arts based events, workshops, exhibitions and talks throughout the year. For more information, visit our What's On Events page.
