Meet Ian Armstrong, Durham University's new Biodiversity Manager

Durham University are dedicated to maintaining our estate, which includes ancient woodland, grassland, wildflower meadows and wetland habitats, while also promoting biodiversity.

As a demonstration of commitment to our biodiversity strategy, we have recruited our first Biodiversity Manager, Ian Armstrong. Ian first joined DU in 1990 and worked to maintain our estate. In 1995, he left to study countryside management and, after almost 30 years, he returned.
