Ring-Fenced Carbon Budget
Have an idea for cutting carbon?
Since 2011, the ring-fenced carbon budget has been used to fund over 114 projects, generating an estimated carbon savings of around 3532 tonnes of CO2e.
Every year £100,000 is available to spend on carbon saving projects. These can be anything from training or publicity materials to timer switches or new equipment. Applications are welcome from all members of staff from across the University. If you have an idea that you would like to discuss before applying, please get in touch at greenspace.staff@durham.ac.uk.
How to apply
There are two opportunities to apply over the course of the year. The first application window falls within the Michaelmas Term and the second within the Easter Term. Please use this this template to make an application. Applications are assessed on a number of factors including carbon and financial savings, payback duration, capital cost and ease of implementation. Please return completed submissions to greenspace.staff@durham.ac.uk. We look forward to hearing from you. Please note applications are currently closed for this scheme.
