Anna & Niamh's Story

Anna and Niamh received support from the Durham University Expeditions Group fund, which is apart of the Student Opportunities Fund, provides advice, guidance and financial support to undergraduate and postgraduate students who wish to undertake organised research-based expeditions to locations outside Western Europe. For anna this funded her trip to Mexico.

"This opportunity allowed us to improve our knowledge of coastal marine biology, and the economic importance of these habitats. It has enhanced our desire to work to conserve valuable ecosystems in a way that supports local communities whose lives are intertwined with the health of the environment.
