An Academic’s Applied Theoretical Guide to Developing More Mature Leaders

Abstract
Many academics have responsibility for developing leaders through graduate programs, executive education, and consulting. Despite being subject matter experts (SMEs), academics often struggle to create evidence-based programs that both meet the needs of participants and are doable under real-world conditions. In response to this challenge, I integrate several theoretical approaches into a coherent framework that guides leader development while allowing for SMEs to integrate their own expertise.
