Welcome

Durham University Business School has a strong tradition of informing public policy through rigorous research and close engagement with government, business and civic leaders. Our Policy Hub builds on this tradition by creating opportunities for evidence-led dialogue on the issues shaping our economy, organisations and society.

Drawing on expertise from across the School, the Hub connects academic insight with decision-makers, industry partners and regional stakeholders. Through policy roundtables, leadership forums, commissioned research and public engagement activities, it provides a platform where evidence can inform strategy, policy and practice.

Recent discussions have brought together senior figures from the Bank of England, the CBI, the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority and leading organisations across the region to explore topics including productivity, employment, artificial intelligence, industrial transformation and economic growth. By convening these conversations, the Hub strengthens the School's contribution to policy development while ensuring research insights reach those in a position to drive meaningful change.

The Policy Hub reflects our commitment to creating impact beyond academia - translating world-class research into informed decisions, stronger partnerships and lasting societal value.

Business schools must do more than generate knowledge. They must create the space where evidence informs decisions and partnerships produce lasting impact.
