Our graduates are highly employable. Our Department was ranked 1st for Geography in the 2025 Good University Guide produced by The Times/Sunday Times and this included a score of 94.4 for graduate prospects, the highest for our subject in the UK.

Daisy Stones graduated from our BSc Geography programme in 2017 and now works as a Flood Officer for the Environment Agency. Daisy's role involves work to improve the Environment Agency's station evident to provide a more accurate customer experience. She is also involved in the Agency's incident response to flooding.

Conrad Lennard graduated from our BA Geography programme in 2009. He now works for Mastercard helping banks, payment providers and law enforcement agencies to prevent financial crime.

Dr Edward Twiddy graduated from our BSc Geography programme in 1991 and later returned to Durham to complete his PhD. Dr Twiddy is now the Chief Customer Officer for Atom Bank, with responsibility for the organisations net zero goals, customer experience, marketing and PR teams.
