The Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings (2026)

In the 2026 Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings, Durham University has climbed to 33rd place globally, its highest-ever position.
The 2026 rankings evaluate 1,646 universities from 116 countries and territories across 17 individual SDG tables and one overall ranking.
Durham Law School has played an important role in supporting the University’s success. Through its research, teaching, and engagement activities, the School continues to demonstrate how legal scholarship can contribute to addressing global sustainability challenges and advancing Durham University's commitment to positive environmental and social impact.
A particular note of thanks goes to Durham Law School Professor Petra Minnerop, Associate PVC Sustainability, whose leadership and management of the process were instrumental in coordinating and showcasing Durham's sustainability achievements.
