Durham Law School Ranked Top Five in the UK in Guardian University Guide 2027
Durham Law School has been ranked 5th in the UK for Law in the Guardian University Guide 2027, while Durham University has been placed 6th overall nationally, reinforcing its position among the UK's leading universities.
The 2027 rankings highlight the strength of Durham's legal education and student experience. Durham Law School achieved an overall score of 88.3 out of 100, placing it among the UK's top providers of legal education. The School performed particularly strongly in measures of student satisfaction, with 91.8% satisfaction with teaching, and 81.1% satisfaction with feedback.
The Law School's success comes alongside another strong institutional performance for Durham University, which ranked 6th overall in the UK.
The Guardian University Guide is designed to assess the quality of the student experience and the outcomes achieved by students during and after their studies. The overall rank score combines eight measures, including teaching quality, assessment and feedback, student-to-staff ratios and graduate employment.
The latest results reinforce Durham Law School's reputation as one of the UK's top destinations for legal education.
