Imania Wajid, a 2026 graduate of Durham Law School, has been recognised for outstanding academic achievement after receiving the Durham Law School Prize for Outstanding Third-Year Dissertation at the Newcastle and North of England Law Society's Annual Law Dinner and Bicentenary Celebrations.

Having graduated with an LLB Law degree in June 2026, Imania received the award in recognition of achieving the highest overall performance in her third-year dissertation.
Sponsored by Pitman Training, the award was presented during The Newcastle and North of England Law Society's Annual Law Dinner on 9 October. Held at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, the event brought together members of the legal profession, including representatives from law firms, chambers and legal organisations from across the North East and beyond, while also marking the Society's bicentenary year and 200 years of supporting the legal profession in the region.
The Annual Law Dinner is one of the region's leading legal events and includes an awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of students and legal professionals. Durham Law School congratulates Imania Wajid on this well-deserved achievement and wishes her every success in the future.
