When applying for a European exchange place, students may apply select up to three universities. The three choices may be a mix of: specific department to department partners; and institution-wide partners listed below. 

Law Specific Partners

These are departmental links only available to students studying law as part of their degree. Students studying joint/combined honours that include law may also apply for these universities, but must select a majority of modules in law at these partners.

*Please note:

• Sciences Po has seven campuses, students must select two campuses in their application and first choice campus cannot always be guaranteed.
• There is a €250 charge for the welcome programme at Sciences Po.

**Students may only study PG modules at KU Leuven, since these are the only English-taught modules available.

Institution-wide Partners

These university partners are open to students from any academic Department - except any departments listed in the "Restrictions" column listed below. If your department is listed as a restriction you must not apply for a place at that partner. Before making an application, you must check that sufficient modules for a full workload are available in your subject at these partners. To do this you will need to visit the partner university's incoming exchange website. These university partnerships are are supported our membership of the Coimbra Group (CG) Student Exchange Network (SEN) and Arqus on the Move Network.

Please be aware that institution-wide places are more competitive than departmental places. If demand for places at the partners below exceeds the quota number of places available, places will be allocated by the International Office based on grades and the application materials provided. When making an application, on the host section of the European application form, please indicate (from the column “type” below):

• "Institution-wide" when choosing a general institution-wide partner
• “SEN” when choosing a Coimbra Group Student Exchange Network (SEN) partner
• “Arqus” when choosing an Arqus on the Move partner

***Unlimited / unrestricted numbers - should one of these be exceptionally popular, Durham reserves the right not to allocate a place. This is because exchange partnerships operate on the principles of long-term balanced reciprocity between universities in terms of the number of students sent and received. In such a scenario we will work with the partner to establish the maximum number of Durham students they can reasonably accommodate.
