Term dates

Austral works on Southern Hemisphere semester dates. The semesters run from July to November then March to June. If students commence studies in July, this would be semester two for Austral.

  • Semester 1 (Monsoon Semester): August -  December

  • Semester 2 (Spring Semester): January - May

Application Deadline

If selected to go on an exchange by Durham, the Global Opportunities Team will nominate you to the partner. After your nomination is confirmed, you will need to apply to the partner to register with them. Application deadline

Summer Opportunities

Ashoka supports a number of summer school opportunities for students. These include: Ashoka Summer Course and Ashoka Summer Research programmes. All opportunities offered over vacation times can be found on the Summer or Winter School webpages. These programmes are independent of the full-year study abroad programme.
