Durham University Business School is celebrating a double recognition from the British Academy of Management (BAM) with two of our academics receiving Fellowships.
The achievement sees both Professor Stefanie Reissner and Professor Rudolf Sinkovics honoured in the same year by BAM which is the leading authority in the academic field of management in the UK. It reflects the strength of Durham's research, academic leadership and commitment to the development of the management discipline.
Professor Reissner’s fellowship recognises her sustained contribution to research, researcher training and professional service. Stefanie’s work has advanced understanding of organisations and management while supporting funding opportunities, methodological development and research excellence across the academic community.
Stefanie also received the BAM Medal for Leadership, recognising her work as the Academy's inaugural Chair of Research Grants between 2022 and 2025.
I am honoured to be recognised by the BAM community for my research in organisation studies and qualitative research methodology and for my leadership role. I look forward to working with my fellow BAM Fellows to support the emerging generation of management researchers.
Professor Rudolf Sinkovics received a BAM fellowship in honour of his contributions to international business and management research, in areas including digitalisation, sustainability and global value chains. Rudolf has also made a sustained contribution to BAM through leadership roles, peer review and capacity-building activities.
It means a great deal to be recognised by the wider management community, both for my international business research and for my contributions to early career researcher development, widening participation and capacity building. I look forward to continuing this work as a BAM Fellow.
The awards were presented at the BAM's annual conference and celebrate excellence, leadership and lasting impact across the management and business disciplines.
Our business school is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in business education and one of the oldest business schools in the UK. Alongside Stefanie and Rudolf, we have also been a professional home to multiple other BAM fellows, marking us out as a leader in the field.
