The Institute of Advanced Study (IAS) is pleased to announce the launch of its Michaelmas Term 2026 Term Card, bringing together a rich programme of seminars, talks, lectures and special events organised by the IAS and its partners.
With opportunities to hear from leading academics, practitioners and visiting scholars, the programme offers an exciting space for interdisciplinary dialogue, critical inquiry and collaboration throughout the term.
Highlights
Our showcase event on 08 October marks the IAS’s 20th anniversary, and we welcome Durham's Chancellor, Dr Fiona Hill and the President of the British Academy, Professor Susan Smith for a special public event exploring how interdisciplinarity can help us understand and respond to an increasingly complex world.
Events with Our Visiting Fellows and Scholars
The programme also features a diverse range of lectures and seminars led by our visiting Fellows and Scholars, whose research spans disciplines and subjects from across the academic landscape.
These events form an important part of our mission to create spaces where researchers and audiences can encounter new perspectives, exchange ideas and develop connections across disciplinary boundaries.
Through the programme, we hope to continue fostering the open exchange of ideas that lies at the heart of the IAS.
