[06/26] The Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) was delighted to host its Early Career Researcher (ECR) End-of-Year Event on Thursday 11 June, organised by IHR Co-Director Greg Lusk.

Held in TLC 106 from 2:00 – 5:00pm, the informal social brought together researchers, colleagues, students, affiliates and friends of the Institute to mark the close of the academic year.

The event was a great success, with a strong turnout and a lively, welcoming atmosphere throughout the afternoon. Attendees enjoyed a relaxed setting with food and refreshments, alongside plenty of opportunity for conversation, discussion, and networking. It was particularly valuable for early career researchers to meet one another, share experiences, and build connections across disciplines within hazard, risk and resilience.

The gathering highlighted the strength and vibrancy of the IHRR community, with many participants commenting on the importance of creating spaces for collaboration and informal exchange. Events such as this play a key role in supporting ECRs and fostering a sense of belonging within the Institute.

Building and strengthening the ECR community remains a key priority for IHRR, and we are excited to continue developing opportunities for connection and collaboration in the next academic year.

If you would like to stay up to date with upcoming events, funding calls and opportunities, please sign up to the IHRR mailing list to ensure you receive the latest information.
