Health at Durham is an exciting programme of world-leading research, education, engagement and impact. We look at health through three inter-related themes:

As an undergraduate or taught postgraduate student you can explore subjects such as public policy, work and health, and the history of philosophy of medicine and disease. From neuroscience and anthropology to medical humanities and classics, we have undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a wide range of disciplines. We can also support placement opportunities in healthcare environments.

Undergraduate programmes

BSc Health and Human Sciences explores social and biological perspectives on health and disease, from the level of cells to societies.

Studying Health and Human Sciences allows you to investigate pressing questions about contemporary health issues, including health inequalities and reproductive choices. This is an exciting and highly interdisciplinary field which overlaps with many other areas, including applied subjects such as public health and evolutionary medicine.
