A new publication sheds light on people's experience of hearing spirit voices.

IMH researcher Adam Powell has contributed a chapter in the recently published collection of essays Necrodialogues and Media, edited by Elena Fabietti and Zoë Ghyselinck.

This book offers an original contribution to understanding the diverse ways people communicate with the dead.

Adam's chapter, titled 'Hearing Spirits: The Work and Technique of Controlled Clairaudience', draws on data from a study of clairaudient mediums that was part of IMH's flagship Wellcome-funded research project Hearing the Voice (2012–2022).

The e-book is available Open Access from the publisher De Gruyter Brill, and hardcover copies are available to purchase.
