IMH today published "Engagement, experience and power: Working with an advisory group", the latest Project Short in its Working Knowledge collection.

Written by Veronica Heney (Co-Lead for the Narrative Practices Lab in the Discovery Research Platform for Medical Humanities) with contributions from Ashley, Eleanor Higgins, Naomi Salisbury and Sarah-Jayne Hartley, Engagement, experience and power considers the complexities of working with a lived experience advisory group as part of a humanities PhD project. Reflecting on some of the challenges involved in working in this way in a PhD which explored fictional representations of self-harm, it describes decision-making processes and how the group shaped the research project.
