My Greenspace Varsity Cup 2025 is here!

Ever wondered which of Durham University’s colleges is the greenest? It’s time to find out as they go head-to-head in the My Greenspace Varsity Cup.

Starting on Monday 10 February, students from each college will compete in three week-long rounds focused on themes of ‘Get Involved’, ‘Waste’ and ‘Energy’, with the winning college being crowned winners of the My Greenspace Varsity Cup. 

Each week, we will share details of how you can score maximum points for your college so follow us on Instagram to stay up to date. 

Points schedule

10 Feb – 14 Feb round 1: Get Involved

17 Feb – 21 Feb round 2: Waste

24 Feb – 28 Feb round 3: Energy

How to score maximum points

Week 1

Theme: 'Get Involved’

You can earn points for your college by:

• Signing up to the My Greenspace app: 50 points for the college with highest increase, 30 points for 2^nd highest and 20 points for 3^rd place
• Highest average My Greenspace points/student: 50 points for the college with highest average points, 30 points for 2nd highest, 20 points for 3rd place
• Hours of environmental volunteering completed: 5 points for every volunteering action logged on the My Greenspace app

Week 2

Theme: 'Waste'

You can earn points for your college by logging actions under the ‘Waste’ category on the My Greenspace app.

The college with the most actions will earn 50 points, with 30 points for 2nd highest and 20 points for 3rd place.

Week 3

Theme: 'Energy'

You can earn points for your college by logging actions under the ‘Energy’ category on the My Greenspace app.

The college with the most actions will earn 50 points, with 30 points for 2nd highest and 20 points for 3^rd place.
