Fairtrade - fill your basket with fairness

As tea farmers deal with droughts, hailstorms and increasingly unpredictable weather, one thing is becoming clear: there is no protection against climate change without fair pay.

Farmers can’t adapt to the climate crisis, protect their livelihoods and the future of tea when they don’t earn enough to cover the basics. Because of extreme weather, many Kenyan tea growers, like Lilian, are losing their tea plants and incomes.

And even though tea prices rise, many of the people growing our favourite brew still don’t earn more. Fair pay isn’t just about income. It’s about supporting farmers to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

This Fairtrade Fortnight and beyond, fill your basket with fairness and choose Fairtrade tea to support the people growing the tea we love
