Library

With windows framing glorious views, our spacious library is a calm space for study, creative work and contemplation.  It is open 24/7 for computer use, book borrowing and quiet study. It contains approximately 14,000 volumes, 13 networked computers, a networked printer and plenty of desk space. In the run-up to exams, the Shincliffe and Bailey Rooms are also made available for students as dedicated study areas.

The library aims to provide copies of core texts for undergraduates from course reading lists. Where possible, this is supplemented by a wider reading range. If there are any items you would like to see added to the library, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.

The library catalogue is available online via the University Library's website and DUO.

Student Librarians work in the library on three evenings each week in term-time (7-9pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and will be happy to help with any queries.

You can also contact us at sa.library@durham.ac.uk with any specific queries.
