As part of Being Human Festival - the UK’s national festival of the humanities - colleagues in the Green Corridors North East project are putting together a creative walk in the Durham City Green Corridor. We will walk from Crook Hall Gardens to Finchale Priory (weather permitting) and explore the cultural and natural heritage of this green corridor through creative means like zines, poetry, photographs, and sound recording. We will bring together the materials and experiences from this walk with others across the programme through conversation and co-produced zine-making at our Green Zine Day in MIMA, in Middlesborough. For more information in the wider programme consult the Green Corridors North East page at Being Human — https://www.beinghumanfestival.org/being-human-green-corridors-north-east and to sign up for this particular walk, follow the link at the end of the page,

The Green Corridors North East project is an AHRC Mission conducting collaborative research in three green corridors in Durham, Teesside, and Gateshead. It brings together Durham University, Newcastle University, Teesside University, Northumbria University, and the National Trust in an exploration of urban green space aiming to increase access to nature and to explore history, nature, and heritage creatively in these spaces. Being Human is led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
