The Centre for Foreign Language Study (CFLS) has reached an important milestone with the launch of its first course on a new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) platform, opening up exciting opportunities for language learning within and beyond Durham University.
Learning a new language opens doors to new cultures, experiences and opportunities. Now, the Centre for Foreign Language Study (CFLS) is taking an important step towards making that journey even more accessible.
The Centre has successfully launched Languages for All (LfA) Arabic Beginners Step 1 on its new CPD platform, marking a significant development in how it promotes, manages and delivers language courses.
The new platform offers a more effective way to showcase courses, manage enrolments and support learners throughout their studies.
It also provides a dedicated online learning environment where participants can access teaching materials and resources, bringing together course administration and learning support in one place.
For CFLS, this is more than a technological upgrade. It creates new opportunities to reach wider audiences, raise the profile of its language courses and expand its provision both within and beyond the University.
Behind this milestone lies a considerable team effort.
The launch was made possible through close collaboration between the CFLS Directors and the Durham Centre for Academic Development (DCAD), with invaluable support from the School of Modern Languages and Cultures’ Teaching and Learning Manager.
With Arabic Beginners Step 1 leading the way, CFLS is looking towards a future in which its language-learning opportunities can reach an even wider community.
The successful launch marks the first step in making the Centre's Languages for All and CPD provision more visible, accessible and easier to engage with.
