How might poetry engage the imagination in unique and different ways?
How might poetry engage the imagination in unique and different ways – and how would we find out?
Come and join the team from the ReaderBank project, the world’s most ambitious study into reading and the imagination, and hear about their research into what goes on in the mind when we read. For Contains Strong Language there will be a special focus on poetry and we’ll be joined by poet Karen McCarthy-Woolf to explore what happens in the mind when a poem is either heard or read.
Contains Strong Language is the UK’s biggest poetry and performance festival, and on its 10th anniversary, it comes comes to Salford, 24th to 27th September 2026.
