Marie Curie - National Day of Reflection
Join us for the National Day of Reflection at the Botanic Garden.
You are invited to mark the National Day of Reflection at the Botanic Garden, in partnership with Marie Curie. The event will take place on Sunday 8 March 2026, from 10.30am to 4pm, and offers an opportunity to pause, remember those lost during the pandemic, and reflect on its lasting impact.
Visitors are welcome to drop in at any point during the day. Activities will include a daffodil plant sale, a children’s daffodil trail around the garden, and the opportunity to tie a yellow ribbon in memory of someone special.
The programme also includes a short talk from a Marie Curie speaker at 11.30am, a one-minute silence at the Field of Hope at 12 noon, and a performance by the Senior Singers Choir at 12.30pm.
The day provides a space to reflect on the sacrifices made by many and recognise the work of health and social care staff, frontline workers, researchers, volunteers and others who supported their communities during the pandemic.
