Celebrate Heritage Open Days and the reopening of our upstairs gallery with a free day of family-friendly activities at the Museum of Archaeology.

Explore the newly reopened gallery and discover the fascinating work that takes place behind the scenes of an archaeology museum. Meet project partners, take part in hands-on activities, join a curator-led tour, and learn how collections are researched, cared for, and displayed.

Whether you are interested in archaeology, science, local history, or museums, there is something for all ages to enjoy.

 

Activities include:

  • Explore museum conservation and collection care and find out how we protect and care for objects
  • Learn more about osteology and how archaeologists study human remains
  • Get creative with family-friendly craft activities
  • Join one of our 20-minute Curator Tours, running every hour at half past the hour (first come basis maximum of 15 people).

 No booking required, sign up for the curatorial tours when you arrive
