The following webpages set out the regulations, policies and processes for the Common Awards framework. The dedicated Common Awards website provides all the necessary information on matters relating to the validated partnerships and programmes, governance and quality assurance arrangements, and guidance on processes from admissions through to graduation.
The Quality Assurance Agency or QAA's UK Quality Code for Higher Education is a key reference point for UK higher education. It enables providers to understand what is expected of them and what to expect from each other. Common Awards policies and processes have been developed with reference to the University’s Learning and Teaching Handbook and the UK Quality Code, often in consultation with our Theological Education Institution (TEI) partners.
TEIs may wish to refer to this information in their own staff handbooks, student handbooks and websites. These pages are regularly reviewed and updated. TEIs are made aware of any changes; however, we would advise against the direct replication of content to ensure the ongoing provision of accurate and up-to-date information.
The Common Awards scheme is a three-way partnership between Durham, the TEIs, and the Church of England. Find the right contact information through our Contact Us page.
