The Durham Infancy and Sleep Centre (DISC) are currently undertaking research to understand how and why parents/carers use adult-worn baby slings or carriers, and how they find information. The project is funded by a research grant from The Lullaby Trust.
Parents and carers of the UK are invited to help understand how and why they use adult-worn baby slings or carriers.
The DISC team have created a survey to gather information from parents and carers on sling and carrier use, knowledge of sling/carrier safety, and awareness of guidance and sources of information. Parents and carers of children under 1 year of age are particularly invited to participate.
The survey can be accessed through the link below:

The survey will be close on the 20th May 2025 and all information obtained from the survey will be kept anonymous. The results will be published in a report for stakeholders, which will include a list of recommendations on how to improve guidance on safe baby sling or carrier use. We will also be publishing the results of the project in an academic journal.
