Congratulations and Welcome to New Undergraduate Students

Welcome from the Principal

Congratulations on obtaining a place at Durham University and Trevelyan College. This is an achievement of which you should be extremely proud.

I am looking forward to welcoming you to Trevelyan in September. You will have plenty of opportunities to get to know the team when you arrive – in the meantime, you can take a look at our College staff pages to find out more about us. Your first days at University will be very exciting but they will also have their challenges, so please do come and speak to one of us if you have any questions or worries, or if you would just like to chat.

Please make sure you read our induction webpages carefully and fill in all the necessary forms in good time. This will ensure that your arrival is as smooth and problem-free as possible. If you have any questions, please do contact us on admissions.trevelyan@durham.ac.uk or 0191 334 7001.

I would like to say a few words about the wonderful community that you are joining. Trevelyan is a vibrant, supportive and enabling environment where you will be valued, empowered to venture out of your comfort zone, gain new experiences to become future-ready graduates, and develop new skills for lifelong learning.

Finally, I would like to encourage you to fully embrace the many opportunities that lie ahead of you and truly explore without limits.

Your first week in Durham – University Induction Week Events Timetable

The Timetable has been designed so College events don’t clash with any of your academic departmental events, but offer you lots of opportunities to meet your fellow Freshers, find your way around and settle into student life.

To help you keep track of where you need to be, and what you need to do during your first busy days at university, in your College and your Department, we have created a day-by-day University Induction Planner. This should help you to plan your schedule, so you don't miss anything - from being issued with your Campus Card or meeting the staff in your Department, to trying out for a sports team or joining a student society.
